Это заглавная композиция 25-го альбома Майка Олдфилда.

Песня Man On The Rocks о зависимости: «Не обязательно от наркотиков или алкоголя,—
сказал Олдфилд, — это может быть определенная модель взаимоотношений, или о пристрастии
к неудачам».

Идея пластинки образовалась, когда Олдфилд начал крутить записи Rolling Stones, 
уделяя особое внимание звуку барабанов. «Я слушал малые барабаны», — сказал он Daily
Telegraph . «И я начал экспериментировать с этими старыми секциями блюзовой слайд-
гитары в открытой настройке G, которую использует Кейт Ричардс».

Олдфилд сначала собирался сам спеть все песни, но потом связался с вокалистом Люком
Спиллером из The Struts. «Я подумал: позвольте мне посмотреть, смогу ли я петь, 
как Мик Джаггер», — сказал он Daily Telegraph, но результат ему не понравился, он
позвонил в свою звукозаписывающую компанию. «Я попросил их порекомендовать рок-вокалиста
