Представляем вам для ознакомления новозеландский группу State Of Mind, основанную
на дуэте двух музыкантов, Патрика Хавкинса и Стюарта Максвела, выпустившую форматное
видео на свою новую композицию — «Shattered».

## Biography

State of Mind were the hosts of the New Zealand radio station [95bfm](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BFM_(radio))
drum and bass show «The Next Level».

They have released 5 studio albums. _Take Control_, _Faster than Light_, _Nil by
Ear_, _Eat the Rich_, _Land of the Blind_.

_Take Control_ was released through Uprising Records in New Zealand only via CD
format, featuring the artist’s most successful single _Sunking_^([[1]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Mind_(band)#cite_note-1))
licensed from CIA Recordings. It is no longer available, although most material
from the album is available via streaming. Their second LP, _Faster Than Light_,
featured guest appearances from New Zealand artists [PNC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PNC_(rapper))
and [Tiki Taane](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiki_Taane) and was released on their
own label, [SOM Music](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=SOM_Music&action=edit&redlink=1).
In April 2011, their album _Nil By Ear_ was released with 12 songs including their
main 3 singles which include [Return Of The Prophet](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Return_Of_The_Prophet&action=edit&redlink=1)
which features [PNC](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PNC_(rapper)).^([[2]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Mind_(band)#cite_note-2))
In 2014 _Eat the Rich_ was released on Dutch label Blackout Music. This album represented
a sonic shift by State of Mind towards a harder sound, and went on to achieve international
recognition, playing a significant role in the revival of the neurofunk sound within
Drum and Bass. After a brief hiatus State of Mind released their 5th album _Land
of the Blind_, also on Blackout Music.

State of Mind have been recognised for their success many times in New Zealand.
They took out the «Breakthrough Artist» award and shared «Electronic Single of the
Year» with Concord Dawn for the song _Aces High_ at the 2006 [bNet Awards](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BNet_NZ_Music_Awards).
They were nominated at the 2007 [New Zealand Music Awards](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_Music_Awards)
for «Best Electronic Album» for their debut LP _Take Control_, the 2012 [New Zealand Music Awards](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_Music_Awards)
for «Best Electronic Album» with _Nil By Ear_ and the 2020 [New Zealand Music Awards](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_Music_Awards)
for «Best Electronic Artist» with their album _Land of the Blind_.^([[3]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Mind_(band)#cite_note-3))
